In an announcement today, November 9, 2009, a settlement was approved last Friday in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana, California. It ordered a deadline of six-months for the government to decide on hundreds of citizenship applications from Santa Ana, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino County.
Hundreds of applications of legal immigrants in Southern California, who have been waiting years for their citizenship applications to be approved will have their processed as a result of the settlement with the federal government. They feel there is no defense for this level of delays.
